As you will notice in the pictures, the view was obstructed and certainly not worth nearly $300 per night. If you're using that as a selling point you better be sure there's a view. The Lakeview Retreats are touted as the only rooms with a view of the Lake. The walls were adorned with faded posters of National Parks and Ansel Adams prints that looked as though they'd been there since 1980. ![]() ![]() The room, while spacious, seemed more cheap than rustic, with furnishings more suited for a downtown motel than a National Park lodge. The location of Signal Mountain resort is magnificent! It is right on the shores of Jackson Lake and the view is spectacular! It is also central to the park and a few minutes drive from Oxbow Bend which was my favorite place to see the sunset. Needless to say I expected to be making a step up. I spent 4 nights in a lower lake front retreat at Signal Mountain Lodge ($254/nt) after spending a week in a Frontier Cabin at the Lake Lodge in Yellowstone ($96/nt). I could hear every word of every conversation taking place on the connecting 3 retreats. But the walls are so thin, I didn't get much sleep. The bed was VERY comfortable and I loved sinking into it at the end of a long day. ![]()
